Cymorth Commissioning

Cardiff Children and Young People’s Partnership is introducing new commissioning arrangements for the way it spends Cymorth. The Partnership Board decided to introduce these changes for two very important reasons:

  • To make sure that the way in which the funding is used helps us deliver the Cardiff Children and Young People’s Plan (in line with the guidance from Welsh Assembly Government)
  • To provide a more transparent and equitable process

Cardiff CYP Plan 2008-11 was written and the priorities identified through extensive consultation with children, young people and their families in Cardiff, and is intended to deliver better services and outcomes for them.

The most important thing is that we use the funding we have available to improve the lives of children and young people living in Cardiff.

The Partnership started work on this review in June 2009. The links and documents set out here are intended to provide information for stakeholders on:

We will be updating this site as the process goes on so that you can have the latest information.

WHAT IS THE CYMORTH FUND?

Cymorth is the children and young people’s support fund (cymorth’ is Welsh for ‘support’). It is an annual grant made by the Welsh Assembly Government to support the work of the Children and Young People’s Partnership.

The fund is mainly used to fund projects which have a focus on preventative work with children, young people and their families or on tackling inequality. Cardiff Children and Young People’s Partnership has been told that it will receive just over £5m for 2010-11.
